Elevate: My Word for the Year Ahead

Happy New Year! This note is arriving a bit later than usual, but December was full in all the ways it tends to be—and then our family boarded a plane on December 20th for a two-week safari adventure in Kenya.

When I travel, I'm usually at least somewhat connected, but for this trip—given the time of year, the significant time difference between Chicago and Nairobi, and the experience I wanted to fully share with my family—I truly unplugged. And it was absolutely worth it. Kenya is a place that heightens every sense. From the warmth of the people to the awe-inspiring wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, unforgettable sounds, scents, and incredibly delicious food—it was pure magic. Beginning a new year in such a meaningful, beautiful place felt like an extraordinary gift.

Choosing a Word for 2026

Shifting back into the world of real estate—many people, when business planning, choose a word to define and anchor their year ahead. For the first time, I've decided to do the same. As I look toward 2026, the word guiding my goals, decisions, and intentions is ELEVATE.

This word resonates deeply because it captures exactly what I'm striving for—elevating my business, elevating the client experience, and elevating the systems and structure that support sustainable, long-term growth. For me, elevate is both a mindset and a mission. It means raising the bar in how I serve my clients, growing sales volume and income thoughtfully, and building stronger, more scalable systems behind the scenes—all while preserving the highly personal, relationship-driven approach that matters so much to me.

Most of all, it's about showing up with intention: continually refining, improving, and stretching toward what's possible. I'm energized by what lies ahead and excited to bring this focus into 2026.
