There's nothing like the promise of a new year! January 1st is a clean slate—exciting and a little daunting. Whether 2024 exceeded your wildest dreams or fell short, now is the time to dream bigger, reset your goals, and dive into 2025 with fresh determination.
Predictions
Real estate is full of surprises, but some trends are already taking shape for 2025. On the North Shore, the three most common questions I am asked about relate to interest rates, inventory, and pricing. While 2024 saw rates fluctuate, they didn't drop as much as anticipated and then post-election they popped up again. I predict we'll settle into healthier, moderated rates that reflect stability. This shift could encourage sellers tied to low rates to re-enter the market, bringing increased inventory. However, pricing should remain steady as our home values are strong but not overinflated. I anticipate a busier 2025 for real estate, with plenty of opportunities for both buyers and sellers.
Resolutions
Do you set New Year's resolutions? I love creating goals (aka resolutions!) that balance work, health, and joy. A coach recently introduced me to 90-day goal cycles—focused, achievable targets with regular check-ins to refine and reset. This approach makes growth feel manageable and motivating. Remember, habits take time. Research shows it takes an average of 66 days to make a new behavior stick (while more complex habits might take up to 254 days or more), so consistency is key. Set goals that energize you and build momentum over time—your future self will thank you!
Inspiration
I love starting my mornings with the NY Times daily email—a quick read that's equal parts thought-provoking and practical. Every year, the Times asks readers to share their best advice. I have shared with you in the past that I love a good mantra so here are a few that resonated with me:
It's never too late to have a good day. • The only time you should look in someone else's bowl is to see if they have enough. • Some seasons you produce fruit, some seasons you prune, and some seasons you let your roots grow deep. • Nothing is ever as good as you think it will be or as bad as you fear. • Don't be the one to tell yourself no.
As we step into 2025, I'm excited to help turn your real estate goals into reality. Whether buying, selling, or simply planning for the future, let's make this a year of possibilities, progress, and home. Cheers to new beginnings and the milestones ahead!
