I am so excited to welcome my oldest son, Alex Harris, to our team. When I began my real estate career 14 years ago, I never imagined I would one day have the opportunity to work alongside one of my children.
During the height of COVID, Alex was a college sophomore trying to sort out his major and what his future career path might look like. Seemingly out of the blue (at least to me!), he shared that he wanted to get his real estate license and pursue residential real estate. Residential? I asked. Not commercial. With no salary, no health insurance, no benefits—my very logical response was a firm and repeated “no.” Over the next year, however, Alex patiently and persistently made his case, thoughtfully articulating how the work I do aligned with his goals, interests, and strengths.
Knowing he needed to learn the business independently, I introduced him to a trusted colleague and friend, Rafay Qamar, and his partner Jana Pierce, who ran a high-performing team built on lead generation and discipline (because at 22, you can't rely on your sphere alone). Beginning at the end of his junior year, Alex went to work with them—and over the next five years, they mentored and guided him as he confidently built his foundation in real estate.
The Numbers Speak
About a year ago, as I began forming my partnership with Julie Miller and rebranding our team, I asked Alex if he would consider joining me. He said no. He felt he still had more to accomplish on his own—and wow, did he prove that right. In 2025 alone, Alex closed 21 sales and more than 20 rentals, for a total sales volume of $7.3 million. I didn't think I could be more proud… and then he said yes.

As my own business has grown, what I value most is the one-on-one work—guiding clients through each step of the process with care and intention. What challenges me is being stretched too thin and wanting to deliver that same personalized experience to everyone. Partnering with Alex allows him to be a true extension of my services and helps me elevate—yes, my word of the year—the client experience.
Alex may be new to Third Coast Luxury, but he is not new to real estate. We are hitting the ground running and are excited to serve our combined client base with the same care, strategy, and attention to detail. And now, that tagline truly feels complete: Three generations. One mission. We can't wait to help even more clients achieve their real estate goals this year.
